In the summer of 2020/2021 I stumbled upon a semi burnt out car dumped in a grassland on the perephery of an industrial estate. In my travels I have come across many burnt out cars. It is somewhat of a sport for people to steal a car and then set it a light somewhere remotely, this is often the cause of bushfire misery. In this case the interior of the car had not fully been consumed by flames leaving the it molten and drooping like a bothered candle.
When I took the negatives into the darkroom I played around with separating out the images into a grid of smaller prints which I struggled to put back together resulting in an amalgam of constellations. Conceptually the element of demolition of the control unit of this vehicle speaks deeply to me.
